DJ Ghost talks being the Philadelphia 76ers’ official DJ, “Behind The Mix,” radio, and more | HHV On The Rise

These past few years have seen the Philadelphia 76ers risk it all to become true contenders. The team tore it all down and, in the midst of that, built a whole new culture. Much is said about the team’s transformation, but DJ Ghost is also a prominent figure.

Some could argue that DJ Ghost is the most-important Sixers’ member, aside from the actual team. After all, he’s the one who provides the sound, and that creates the atmosphere. It’s the overall experience that makes the whole NBA game enjoyable.

DJ Ghost recently took time out to speak to Hip-HopVibe.com, where he discussed this. When speaking on being the Sixers’ DJ, he described it as a dream job. He also spoke on being a part of the new show, “Behind The Mix,” a series about the process of DJ-ing.

Read the entire interview below:

Being a Philly native, how does it feel to be the official DJ for the Sixers? It’s a dream job. I’m thankful for the opportunity they gave me and look forward to going to work there every day.

After years of struggling, the Sixers have been to the playoffs two straight years, and almost took out the champs, last year. Do you think they will be the best team in the NBA this year? I definitely hope for that every year lol.

You have a whole lot of big things going on, can you tell us about the new show, “Behind The Mix,” and the episodes that you will be appearing on? It’s a show about DJs, not really the DJing part but more of what it takes to get to that part. The day to day things we do as DJs, people just don’t know or realize what we need to actually do to be a successful DJ.

How long have you been doing the mix-show on Q102? I’ve been the primary DJ a Q for a few months now. It’s great over there. Everyone has been very nice and welcoming. Glad to be apart of the team.

Do you eventually see yourself venturing into hosting a radio show? It’s been a thought, but not something I’m currently pursuing, but if the right situation come I’m all for it.

Aside from just the radio, would you ever consider following the footsteps of another Philly DJ, Drama, into putting out songs and mixtapes with artists, and developing your own talent? Oh yes, 100%,  I’m actually working now towards that.

Can you let the people know where they can find you on social media? All my socials are the same, makes it really easy for people to follow me @DJGhost1.
