Through his entire career, Kanye West made a name for himself, because he always thinks big and dreams big. There was a time when rappers weren’t vocal, politically. Once, Eminem was the only rapper who openly called out politicians, in the post-Tupac era.
Kanye West, however, boldly called out George W. Bush, over his response to Hurricane Katrina, in New Orleans. That led the groundwork for rappers being politically involved. His own mentor, Jay-Z, would become close with Barack Obama.
Ironically, Kanye West would align with the GOP, in the Donald Trump era. Previously, he has spoken about running for president, and confirmed, during the FC Festival, that he is running in 2024. He was speaking on his new sneaker line, and creating US jobs, when he mentioned the run, and got laughed at.
