R. Kelly is still being held in jail with no bond on sex charges in Illinois, Minnesota, and New York. He recently requested to be in the general population of the prison he’s in as opposed to being in solitary confinement. Kelly originally claimed that he was being forced into solitary confinement but officials denied that.
Kelly is due back in court and is coming up with a strategy to try to get out of jail. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, he lists his medical issues and cites being in jail as a reason for them. He supposedly has numbness in one of his hands, anxiety and an untreated hernia.
Kelly’s lawyer, Steven Greenberg, says that Kelly isn’t receiving adequate medical treatment jail and calls the situation “stifling.” Greenberg added that Kelly’s two girlfriends, Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary, have been trying to visit him. According to the jail’s rules, Clary is on the visiting waiting list and Savage has to wait 90 days for her turn.
The documents filed added that Kelly says he won’t get into any trouble if released and won’t tamper with or intimidate witnesses. Greenberg also vouched for Kelly not being a flight risk as he isn’t using his passport as he doesn’t even go outside of America much.
