This month makes it six months since hip-hop lost Nipsey Hussle after being killed in his hometown of Los Angeles in front of his The Marathon Clothing store. Fans, friends, and family members are still mourning heavily as his birthday just passed on August 15. His new Puma clothing was released on September 5 as well and sold out in a hurry.
DeSean Jackson is an LA native as well and knew Nip before he passed. Before Philly’s big win vs the Redskins yesterday in Week 1, Jackson was seen with his customized Nipsey cleats in pregame warmups. He took to Instagram after the win to say that every pair of Nipsey cleats he wears before the games will be put up for auction with the proceeds going to Nipsey’s kids, Kross and Emani.
Jackson had a hell of a game as he posted eight catches for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Philly came back to win 32-27. This was his first game back in a Eagles uniform since 2013. He went on to play for the Redskins and Buccaneers before returning to Philly this year. The Nipsey cleats are definitely good luck too. Salute to Jackson for raising money for Nip’s children as well. He’s a real one for this for sure. Take a closer look at the cleats from this weekend below.
