Lizzo has been one of the hottest artists of 2019 with her hit single “Truth Hurts.” This record was released back in 2017 but people are just now realizing how dope of a record it is. The track appeared on Netflix’s “Someone Great” film which also helped boost its popularity this year. Lizzo also released her third studio album “Cuz I Love You” this spring. The album peaked at No.5  on the Billboard 200 chart along with the U.S Rolling Stone 200.

Lizzo has now received her first No.1 record on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with the Truth Hurts record. She beat out “Senorita” by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello and “Bad Guy” by Billie Eilish. “You Need To Calm Down” by Taylor Swift came in at No. 4 and Lil Nas X closed out the top five with his “Old Town Road” hit record feat. Billy Ray Cyrus which was the top song in the country for 19 consecutive weeks.

Lizzo took to Instagram to vent her thoughts on having the No.1 song in the country as she said this is a W for all of her fans and anybody who felt like their voice wasn’t heard. She said that this accomplishment makes her and her fans champions as well. She performed Truth Hurts at the VMAs a week ago and will appear in the new movie “Hustlers” which hits theaters everywhere on September 13 and also stars Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, and Keke Palmer.

Check out her thoughts on Truth Hurts continuing to win big along with the music video for it below.
