Georgia Mother Shoots and Kills Her Two Children And Then Turns The Gun on Herself

By Prince Hakeem

Tragedy struck in Atlanta when members of a prominent family were mysteriously found dead in their suburb townhouse.

58-year-old Marsha Edwards was found dead along with her two adult children this past Wednesday. According to police, Edwards allegedly shot and killed her two children, 24-year-old Christopher Edwards Jr. and 20-year-old Erin Edwards, before turning the gun on herself.

Dr. Marsha Edwards was the ex-wife of well known Atlanta surgeon Christopher Edwards. When Edwards Sr. began to get suspicious, he asked a family member to call the police to do a welfare check. That’s when Cobb County Police found all three bodies inside the Vinings home

Christopher and Erin died of gunshot wounds, and Marsha died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Shock and confusion has now swept the local Atlanta area regarding the details of these deaths. It’s confusing because there wasn’t any sign of trouble or violence with this mother or her children. Marsha’s social media was filled with pictures of herself with her children, gushing over them as a loving and proud parent. Edwards and her daughter Erin even vacationed in Italy recently before their unfortunate deaths.

“I’ve had the best summer, first with Chris in Miami and Erin in Italy. I could not ask for better children,” she captioned a series of pictures with her daughter.

Erin was a student at Boston University. She just had wrapped her summer internship with NBC affliate WNBC in New York. Her brother Christopher Jr. had recently graduated last year and was working in the mayor’s office as the digital content manager for the City of Atlanta’s Executive Office of Entertainment.

Hundreds gathered at Cascade United Methodist Church in Southwest Atlanta to mourn the confusing deaths of these beloved individuals. Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms spoke at ceremony consoling the grieving father.

“The love we have for you and that we have for Marsha, Chris, and Erin will endure forever.”
