Arrest Warrant Issued By Alabama Police For Lakers Center DeMarcus Cousins After Threatening To Shoot Ex-GF In The Head For Not Letting Their Son Come To His Wedding

This week, audio of Lakers Center DeMarcus Cousins surfaced where he threatened his ex-girlfriend and baby mama, Christy West for not letting their son come to his wedding in Atlanta. He said that he wouldn’t ask her again and that he’d put a bullet in her head.

West went to police in Alabama and seeked a restraining order. Now, an official warrant is out for his arrest, according to USA TODAY. This is for a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.

“An arrest warrant has been issued,” said Mobile police spokesperson Charlette M. Solis to USA TODAY. “The third-degeee harassing communications charge was listed on the Mobile municipal court website, although no other information was provided.”

West also confirmed in a text message to USA TODAY that the warrant was signed. Defense attorney Mary Kristen Galanos says that a suspect is subject to arrest in Alabama after an alleged victim signs a warrant in a misdemeanor case. She added that Cousins’ attorney will get him to have time to turn himself in to police. From that point, he’d be processed and released. This is a Class A misdemeanor, where Cousins would face a max of one year in jail.

If Cousins ends up taking a plea, he’d face little to no jail time. It’s unknown if the Lakers star is still in Atlanta right now or back in Mobile.
