HBCU Pride! Quality Control’s, Coach K, to Build Recording Studio For Students At Saint Augustine’s University [VIDEO]

By Tamantha Hip-HopVibe.com Staff Writer

Coach K is giving back in a major way! He just announced that he will be building a recording studio on the campus of Saint Augustine’s University, an HBCU located in Raleigh, North Carolina.

He says:

“I think it’s something that needs to happen. I went to this school and still going. I came back to pursue my degree, and when coming back to the campus, you know, with all the success I’ve had in music, I figured I would give an outlet to the students here at St. Aug and give the kids an opportunity to move in the direction that I moved in, that they might not have had.”

The word “successful” is an understatement when describing Coach K’s music career. He co-founded Quality Control Music with Pierre “Pee” Thomas, and their label is home to some of the hottest artists out right now. Acts like City Girls, Migos, Lil’ Yachty, and Lil’ Baby are all a part of QC.

Coach K says the studio will be done in about 6 months. The next top producer, singer, writer, or rapper at St. Aug, will now have the proper tools to support their dreams, thanks to Coach K.
