Hardcore NBA fans should know who Lorenzen Wright was. During the height of the Pau Gasol era, of the Memphis Grizzlies, Wright was a key role player. Those squads were good for 45-50 wins a season, but always got swept in the first round of the playoffs.
The 2006 run, where the Dallas Mavericks swept the Grizzlies, would be Lorenzen Wright’s final season in Memphis. He would go onto play for the Atlanta Hawks, where he played for two seasons. After brief stints with the Kings and Cavaliers, he retired.
In 2010, Lorenzen Wright went missing, later found dead. An investigation revealed he was murdered and, in 2017, Sherra Wright, his ex-wife, was arrested in connection to the murder. Today, she was in court, and plead guilty to the murder of Lorenzen Wright, facing 30 years in prison.
