‘The Chi‘ on Showtime has been a successful series since it premiered in January 2018 as it details life on the South Side of Chicago. Season two premiered on April 7 of this year and soon got the green light for a third season. Things got bad in the middle of this year though as star actor Jason Mitchell faced sexual assault allegations and was then dropped from the show.
Sonja Sohn plays the role of Laverne in the hit series and just ran into some legal troubles as well. According to TMZ, she was arrested this morning in North Carolina at 2AM for possession Of Cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. The paraphernalia charges are classified as misdemeanors but having cocaine carries a felony.
Sohn was brought into custody and her bail was at $1,000. She was out six minutes later. She will be arraigned in court on July 23.
