Black twitter has been on fire recently regarding a clip involving actor Tim Allen not knowing anything about black culture, especially when it comes to Spades. Not much of a surprise given his array of racially charged comments in the past.
Let me set the scene. Actors Tom Hanks and Tim Allen were doing a press junket interview with Blogxilla. When Blogxilla claimed that BOTH Hanks and Allen had ‘black cards’, he then tested their knowledge of spades. (Yea, I don’t know about that one)
Hanks, who’s secretly been a favorite with a pass to the cookout since his very viral Saturday Night Live Black Jeopardy skit, immediately got on code and knew exactly what to answer in regards to the spades scenario Blogxilla posed to them. However Allen couldn’t look more lost and disinterested in the celebration of an old black past time like playing Spades.
Anyone who pays attention would know that Tim Allen is one of the few conservative right leaning actors within a liberal Hollywood. He’s never been shy about his support for President Donald Trump. So when he seemed confused in comparison to Tom Hanks, it just provided black twitter an opportunity to do what it does whenever it feels that an affront towards black culture has been made. It’s led to many have claim he in fact is ‘racist’ or at the very least has been racially insensitive in the past.
