Partisan politics have led to a congressional gridlock. The entire hip hop community has band against the Republican Party, for many of the obvious reasons. Always, the hip hop community flocked to the Democratic Party, and then Barack Obama came.
If Obama wasn’t enough to drive the hip hop community into the Democratic column, Donald Trump was. Ironically, Trump was once more popular in hip hop than Obama. But, his policies, and those of his party, have led to major backlash.
Tim Scott, of South Carolina, however, has tried to paint himself as a more reasonable Republican. He already has his opportunity zones, where he had an event. At this event, T.I. and Charlamagne Tha God, a native of South Carolina, got a photo opp with Tim Scott.
