This month will mark two months that hip-hop lost Nipsey Hussle as a result of being shot and killed by Eric Holder in his hometown of Los Angeles. Two days after the murder, Holder was captured in LA and placed in solitary confinement on $7 million bond. There has been no trial date set yet but has since been defended by Chris Darden as his attorney. Many remember Darden for being assigned to the prosecution of the OJ Simpson trial in the 1994 murder case of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

Darden has been catching a lot of heat for representing Holder as people think he’s selling out for fame and money. He’s even been receiving death threats as a result of the move. According to TMZ now, Darden has filed a motion to withdraw as being the defense attorney for Holder.

Darden cites the death threats as the cause for the withdrawal and even reminds him of the OJ case. He’s calling out the people who talk on the Internet and threatening families.

“Just as they were in 1995- cowards never change. These days these cowards don’t send letters instead they sit anonymously behind keyboards threatening a man’s mother and children. To those who issued those threats to my children please pay close attention so there is no misunderstanding. Later. F**K YOU!”

Darden made the excuse that all black men should be defended in court no matter what, even if it’s someone in Holder who killed someone as respected as Hussle.

“After centuries of a history of black men hung from trees without trial, or after the thousands of cases of black men tried, convicted and executed without counsel … I cannot understand why in 2019 some people would deny a black man his 6th Amendment right to counsel of his choice.”

Darden knew the backlash was going to come. He can’t act surprised at all and say “f*ck you” to people. Representing Holder was a weak move. He killed a west coast legend and someone who did so much for his community.
