During the summer of 2007, Plies came onto the scene, and had slow rise to top. This was era when DJ Khaled proved himself to be a force in the game. Ironically, at the time, Rick Ross was written off to be a one hit wonder, as Plies came with straight hits.

Plies burst onto the scene with “Shawty,” featuring T-Pain, and the remix with Pleasure P, who was going solo. Not even a year later, Plies returned with second album, with the “Bust It Baby, Pt. 2” hit, which featured Ne-Yo. That is his signature single, but it soon fell apart.

Plies would go on to release a second 2008 album, carrying him into early 2009 with what would become his last radio hits for years. But, recent years have seen his remixes, mixtape singles, and new albums getting him back in the spotlight. Tonight, what he did to Megan Thee Stallion’s “Big Ole Freak” has Twitter going.
