Luke Walton was recently named the new head coach for the Sacramento Kings after mutually parting ways with the Los Angeles Lakers but now things have gotten very serious for him off the court. According to TMZ Sports, Walton is being sued by Kelli Tennant, a sports reporter who he sexually assaulted at a hotel room while he was still an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors.

Legal documents obtained by TMZ state that Walton asked Tennant to come by his Santa Monica hotel room to drop off her new book that she published. She also asked Walton to write a foreword in the book. They had supposedly had a business relationship for two years.

Walton wanted to “catch up” at the time and when Tennant got to the room, he forced himself on her as he kissed on her neck, face, and chest. She started screaming for help but continued to hold her down as he grabbed her breasts and groin area.

Walton went on to force his body on her when she tried to reach for the door and leave the room. Tennant ended up not reporting him because she saw him on a daily basis when it came to her reporting job. He would still kiss her and hug her without her consent though.

The lawsuit concluded by stating that in May 2017, Walton made sexual sounds when he saw her and said “Mmmm … you’re killing me in that dress.” He then rubbed his body on hers.

The Kings have since released a statement and are aware of the report as they are gathering all of the information. They have no comment at the time.
