Nipsey Hussle’s funeral is currently underway and has been a beautiful sight to see. We’ve gotten performances from Anthony Hamilton, Marsha Ambrosius and Jhene Aiko along with an amazing speech from Louis Farrakhan.
Karen Civil was also a very close friend of Nipsey’s. At the start of the service, she read a personal letter from former President Barack Obama to Nipsey’s family. Obama said he found out about his music through his daughters and soon found out about the community work Nipsey had done.
Obama also explained how despite Nipsey’s circumstances in his environment, he used that as hope. He saluted Nipsey for investing in his community and opening businesses in his Crenshaw neighborhood. Obama closed the letter off by offering his and Michelle’s condolences to Lauren London and the rest of Nipsey’s family.
Obama was 100% accurate about Nipsey. Nipsey will forever be a west coast legend and remembered for all that he’d done for the people. Check out the phenomenal letter from Barack Obama to Nipsey Hussle’s family below.
