Increasingly, “The Breakfast Club” has become more actively involved in politics and community-oriented topics. Some of their best interviews are with politicians and self-made non-celebrity businesspeople. Their political interviews, also, are not only with Democrats.
Last year, “The Breakfast Club” interviewed Bob Hugin, the Republican who ran for the Senate, in New Jersey. Throughout the interview, he was intensely grilled by Charlamagne, ending what began as a light conversation. Hugin would go onto lose to Bob Menendez.
Tonight, Fox News interviewed DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God, as “The Breakfast Club.” They talked about the show interviewing 2020 presidential candidates. When asked about interviewing Donald Trump, they said he was welcome, but Charlamagne made it clear he wasn’t pitching it to him.
