Mystikal Rejects Plea Deal Offering Him To Plead Guilty To Felony Simple Rape; Wants To Get Case Thrown Out Before Trial In May

Mystikal was released from prison last month after serving 18 months on first-degree and second-degree rape charges. These date back to August 2017 where he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a Louisiana casino. He was able to get out of prison on $3 million bail that was raised from friends and family along with a new record deal.

Mystikal’s case is set to head to trial in May and is getting offered a plea deal, according to TMZ. He wants no part of it though and wants to try to get the case thrown out before then.

Mystikal’s attorney Joel Pearce met with prosecutors regarding the plea deal. The aggravated rape charge that can put Mystikal in for a life sentence would be reduced to third-degree rape. He would also have to plead guilty to felony simple rape. All of this isn’t enough for Mystikal though as he has rejected the deal.

Mystikal still maintains his innocence and says the victim is lying about the assault. We will see if enough evidence is gathered to throw out the case as Mystikal wants. Expect him to work on some new music until then.
