The way Spike Lee jumped into Samuel L. Jacksons arms when he won his first Oscar tonight is the big mood for all the African American winners tonight.
The 91st Academy Awards came all the way through with the black woman and black man magic tonight, as the melanin ran strong with the Oscar wins! Both Regina King (Actress in Supporting Role for If Beale Street Could Talk) and Spike Lee (Adapted Screenplay for BlacKKKlansman) took home their firsts Oscars. Spike Lee posted on his Instagram account ‘It’s about damn time”, and we couldn’t agree more. #Winning
Hannah Beachler has become the first black woman to win Best Production Design for Black Panther. Ruth Carter, became the first black woman to win for Costume Design for Black Panther and Mahershala Ali won for Actor in a Supporting Role in Green Book.
