When it comes to Charlotte, it gets no more Charlotte than one of two men, Cam Newton and Kemba Walker. Both came to the city, in 2011, both with a mission to change fortunes. Newton returned the Carolina Panthers to contention and Walker got the Bobcats to the playoffs.
Cam Newton would get the Panthers to the Super Bowl the same year that Kemba Walker got Charlotte close to 50 wins. Both runs ended in disappointment and have stayed there, since. Tonight, though, none of that matters, as Charlotte finally got the All-Star Game.
Tonight, during the NBA Tip-Off, on TNT, with Shaq, Charles Barkley, and Ernie Johnson, Cam Newton was one of the guests. Talking NBA, he gave his take on the Hornets, and the league. While he was talking, all Twitter noticed was his hat, and they are going in on this man, and his “Smoky the Bear hat.”
