Mystikal is now a free man after 18 months as he was released from jail today, per TMZ. He was locked up on 2017 first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping charges. He posted $3 million bail. He was able to get a lot of help from others in finally making his freedom a reality.

Mystikal had recently signed a new record deal and that helped him post his bail along with funds from friends and family members. The next step for him is to stand trial in May. His attorney Tim Yazbeck is satisfied that today finally arrived so Mystikal could get back to his family.

“It’s been a long time coming for Mike, but now he can get back to being the artist he is, doing what he loves, and seeing his kids again.”

Mystikal’s other lawyer Joel Pearce said that based on the evidence they have, a positive outcome will be the result. He added that this is a crime that Mystikal didn’t commit and he won’t be back in jail after this case.

Mystikal was being held at Caddo Correctional Center in Louisiana. The initial rape and kidnapping incident occurred at Shreveport, LA at a local casino.

Mystikal has released five albums in his career. His last one was “Tarantula” in 2001
