Zazie Beetz Says Schedule Conflicts From Other “Atlanta” Cast Members And Donald Glover’s Recent Tour Have Delayed Filming For Season Three

Donald Glover’s ‘Atlanta‘ show on FX has been a huge success for two straight seasons now. The most recent one aired from March-May 2018. The plot of Glover playing the role of a manager (Earn) who handles the career of his cousin Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry) continued as they started to tour Europe. The season ended with Paper Boi and Earn avoiding catching a gun charge at the airport prior to venturing on their European tour.

Zazie Beetz plays the role of Glover’s girlfriend in the show. She recently discussed with IndieWire on when fans can expect season three to finally arrive. Season three was originally announced last summer that it’d be on its way. Beetz is now saying that filming has been delayed and multiple factors have played a role into that. A few of them are schedule conflicts by cast members and Glover finishing his recent tour.

“Ideally we would be shooting now; that’s not happening,” said Beetz. “Everybody’s schedules are sort of all over the place — they’re hoping for spring sometime, but no dates. Everybody’s busy, and Donald [Glover] had his tour in the fall, and that doesn’t lend itself to time for script writing. I know that they have a couple of episodes together, but I don’t have any real information.”

This news is a huge disappointment to fans, including myself. This isn’t all too surprising though since season one concluded at the end of 2016 and season two didn’t air until March of 2018. Expect season three to finally get here at the end of 2019 or the start of 2020.
