Music-wise, the last time R. Kelly was relevant, on a major scale, was back in 2010-2011. Since then, R. Kelly has tailored his music to the “grown and sexy” audience. This kept his record sales high and kept him “booked and busy.”

Meanwhile, the people who loved his hip hop hits could stream it, where a lot of money was made for R. Kelly. Last year, Spotify removed him from the playlists, causing controversy. In the wake of “Surviving R. Kelly,” seemingly everyone has turned their back on him.

Facing much pressure, R. Kelly’s label, Sony Music, has dropped him from the label. Streaming outlets are being pressured to remove his music, altogether. Meanwhile, there is a “20/20” special airing on Kells, tonight, as the walls seem to be closing in on the embattled singer.
