For years, there have been accusations about R. Kelly, and his wrongdoing with women. Particularly, R. Kelly has been accused, but never convicted, of activities with underage women. What was confirmed was that he married Aaliyah, when she was fifteen.
Earlier this week, an anonymous backup dancer claimed that she saw an underage Aaliyah having sex with R. Kelly. The timing of her coming forward was iffy, as Lifetime has their “Surviving R. Kelly” docu-series airing. This series has R. Kelly threatening to sue the network.
Tonight, “Surviving R. Kelly” premieres, via Lifetime, and they have run a marathon of singer biopics. They have the Aaliyah biopic currently airing, which was met with horrible reviews. Fans on Twitter have pointed out both how trash the movie is and how petty Lifetime is for airing this before the R. Kelly docu-series.
