Long before Cardi B blew up, K. Michelle was the reality TV success story. After two seasons of “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta,” K. Michelle got signed to Atlantic Records. In the middle of season two, K saw her music get radio rotation.
K. Michelle soon became the promising new voice in R&B, at a time when new artists were hard to come by. In the end, K. Michelle wasn’t the huge artist some predicted she’d be. However, she is good for an album a year, and has returned to the VH1 shows.
Recently, K. Michelle opened up on her sophomore album run, which took place in 2014-2015. A few months ago, K mentioned being upset with how she was pushed off the “Buy A Heart” record, which eventually became a Meek Mill/Nicki Minaj record. In her “Raq Rants” interview, K expanded on this, saying she was over it, wishing Meek the best, but would never be cool with Nicki Minaj.
