In Miami, Trick Daddy is often credited for keeping the city on the map, as Uncle Luke and 2 Live Crew put the city on the map. Signed to local label, Slip-N-Slide Records, Trick Daddy reached unprecedented heights. But, he wouldn’t remain the label’s primary star.

By 2006, Rick Ross became Slip-N-Slide’s flagship artist. However, it would be Plies who would be the breakout artist. Despite being signed to the same label, Plies and Trick Daddy had a lot of tension that was often rumored.

Plies stopped by 99 Jamz, speaking with Supa Cindy. Their conversation was on this very topic. During the interview, Plies explained their dynamic, but said they were able to reach common ground at the BET Hip Hop Awards, and have been good ever since.
