When Jay-Z and Beyonce announced their “On The Run II” tour, fans swarmed Twitter. Cracking jokes, but filled with actual facts, fans said they were preparing to empty their savings accounts for tickets. That ended up being the case for people who bought premium tickets.

Jay-Z and Beyonce, meanwhile, came under flack for their first few shows. Many people said Beyonce’s dance routines were stale, and that it was a worse version of their previous tour. As fans said it would be better with new music, the surprise album came.

Despite the album being met with mixed reviews, “Apesh!t” was a major radio hit. The album did generate new interest in the show, which led to an increase in the already record-breaking sales. With the tour coming to a close, reports have revealed the tour earned $253.5 million, over 48 shows, since June 6.
