#JusticeForJordan: Jordan Edwards’ family receives justice for their fallen young man, as Roy Oliver, the policeman who killed him, is sentenced to prison

A year ago, a story surfaced about Jordan Edwards, a 15-year-old black kid, who was killed by a police officer, in Texas. The story was the same as far too many others. When the police officer, Roy Oliver, was addressed, many thought he would get off, as all the others did.

But, it turns out, that things ended up differently, today. This time around, Roy Oliver was actually convicted of Jordan Edwards’ murder, providing some peace for his family. On social media, there are countless happy people.

No, no conviction will bring Jordan Edwards back, but justice finally being served is a wonderful thing. Many have pointed out the significance of August 28. Some have noted that it’s the anniversary of Emmett Till’s death, and the anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s speech about police violence.
