To the naked eye, North Carolina wasn’t put on the map until J. Cole started doing his thing. At this point, a lot of people are too young to remember Petey Pablo. Most credit him for putting NC on the map, but work was being done long before that.

Tef Kaluminoti is a veteran on the NC hip hop scene and he’s worked alongside the biggest names in the industry. This is something that hasn’t changed, as he recently worked with Dave East on his most-recent project. On top of that, he is still doing his own music.

On his personal Facebook, Tef Kaluminoti mentioned he did what J. Cole did without having a deal. This led to some backlash, leading to Tef calling Cole out and the culture vultures who try to profit off independent artists. With that, he went in on a lot of things about how NC’s hip hop scene operates.
