As a Hornets fan, watching this guy is hard, because imagine him signing with Charlotte, back in 2014. Not only does that make Charlotte a guaranteed playoff team, but that Miami 2016 series might’ve ended differently. But, it is what it is.
What Charlotte was unable to do, the Boston Celtics were. In 2017, they were a team on the rise, with Isaiah Thomas leading the way for them. Despite that, they traded IT for Kyrie Irving, right after Gordon Hayward signed. This instantly made them favorites in the East.
Unfortunately, Gordon Hayward had to deal with injuries that kept him from the court. He missed the whole season and Kyrie Irving missed the playoffs, but was fortunate that Jayson Tatum stepped up. Now, it’s looking like Gordon Hayward is back in his 2017 shape, as he hit eighteen straight three pointers in practice.
