This year, and last year, Drake showed his impact, when he willingly took a year off. When he came back, Drake literally decided to just return with new music. Off the bat, he knocked Cardi B out of the top spot, but she’s made it a tough race for him.
But, Drake has the whole decade behind him, so 2018 has proven to be his victory lap. The Toronto rapper recently completed his deal with longtime label home, Cash Money Records, and is likely moving onto his OVO label. He will do so with four number one records.
Everybody saw it coming with his “In My Feelings” record, because everybody is doing it. Already, 2018 saw “God’s Plan,” “Nice For What,” and “I’m Upset” dominate. When “In My Feelings” hit, Drake made history as the rapper with the most Hot 100 number ones.
