Jay Rock talks “Redemption” album, possible “Black Hippy” album, positivity, and more on #SwayInTheMorning [VIDEO]

This year, Jay Rock has been the TDE artist to enjoy breakout success, as each year has produced someone new. His success is remarkable, as the label has come full circle. Back in 2010, Jay Rock put the label on the map, opening the door for Kendrick Lamar.

With Kendrick Lamar established as one of the top rappers in the game, he’s helped ScHoolboy Q and Ab-Soul get establishment. Last year, 2012 addition, SZA, blew up. This year, Jay Rock has blown up, courtesy of Kendrick Lamar, via “King’s Dead.”

Jay Rock, before opening the BET Awards, with his “Win” performance, visited Sway at “Sway In The Morning.” The popular rapper discussed Redemption, his new album, and his positive energy. He also spoke on the possibility of the Black Hippy album coming, which was previously said to never come.
