Currently, Jay-Z is in the “OG” era of his career. He rarely appears on records, outside of his with Beyonce, and when he does make an appearance, he is offering advice. Such was the case on Drake’s “Light Up,” where his verse became a prophecy.
Here, in his 4:44 run, Jay-Z has been inspired by a lot of what is going on with the current generation. In the video for his title track, Jay-Z had a part of a Solo Lucci interview, and a viral video. The Brooklyn rapper is now using even more inspiration for his new tour.
Currently, Jay-Z and Beyonce are on the “On The Run” II tour and he did something different with today’s show. When he performed, he had the backdrop of Nicki Minaj’s 2002 mugshot. Nicki Minaj actually boasted about it, sharing it on her Instagram.
