Yeah, there were legitimate questions about the Pelicans being too much for the Warriors. Understand, Golden State has struggled all season long. Injuries to Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant have kept the Warriors under 67 wins for the first time in four years.
Given how solid the Warriors are, that is a bad season, and they didn’t end the season well. On the other hand, the New Orleans Pelicans got hot at the right time. Against Portland, Anthony Davis came of age, with the help of Rajon Rondo and Jrue Holiday.
It looked like the Pelicans would be a threat to the Warriors. Long story short, that’s not the case, as Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have plugged many holes. Them, plus Kevin Durant, have led to a blowout for the Warriors, without Steph even playing, and Twitter says he might not even need to play, this series.
