Last week’s “Empire” episode dealt with Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), in the aftermath of her heart attack. In typical Cookie fashion, she returned to work, and reunited with friends from prison. There, she learned her rival, Pound Cake (Da’Vine Joy Randolph) is dying from cancer.
Also, Cookie provided a shoulder for Andre (Trai Byers) to lean on, after he told the family he tried to kill Lucious (Terrence Howard). Lucious has rejected him and Shine (Xzibit) is breathing down his neck. Then, there is Hakeem (Yazz) learning to be a songwriter.
Jamal (Jussie Smollett), meanwhile, is still with Warren (Terrell Carter), and reeling from killing Angelo (Taye Diggs). As usual, the family is in disarray, as Cookie’s mother, Renee (Alfre Woodard) arrives. This comes after Carol (Tasha Smith) and Candace (Vivica A. Fox) alerted her.
