By Chox-Mak

The city of Detroit is buzzing in a way that it never has before, when it comes to hip hop. Overall, Detroit is the first black music mecca, with the whole Motown legacy. But, Eminem is the one who put the city on the map, in hip hop.

In fact, Big Sean was the first rapper from the city to break out, that wasn’t somehow affiliated with Shady. Since Big Sean, there have been many others, including Dej Loaf and Tee Grizzley. Also making moves is 44 Roc and he’s been all over the place.

44 Roc recently took time out to talk with HHV for the On The Rise segment. He talked about the growth and recognition of his city’s hip hop scene. The buzzing rapper also spoke on his music and what fans need to be on the lookout for, as “Luxury Tax” is taking off.
