Coming into the summer of 2014, it seemed like business as usual. By that time, people got used to Cash Money Records and how they were operating. Behind the success of Lil Wayne, and Young Money, the label was on fire, and had several other labels under it.
Without even thinking about it, Cash Money Records had the game on lock. Then, Lil Wayne finally returned with Tha Carter V debut singles, reuniting him and Drake. Unfortunately, Lil Wayne would go on a now-infamous rant, putting Birdman and YMCMB on blast.
Since then, Lil Wayne hasn’t released much new music, and Drake has fully assumed the top position, in the game. Despite all the tension, all along Birdman has insisted there’s no beef. Like he is saying, in this new pic with Wayne, which Drake co-signed, he always said “Wayne is my son.”
