Coming into 2018, DJ Khaled is coming off the biggest year of his career. Back in 2008, few people could imagine DJ Khaled out here doing songs with Rihanna. People put him in that DJ category and only expected posse cuts from him.
But, DJ Khaled wanted to be known for making actual music. This is what led to him taking that time off, in 2014-2015. When he returned, he delivered “Hold You Down,” and immediately began working on his next album.
DJ Khaled really outdid himself with “Wild Thoughts,” featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller. The song was the anthem of the summer and is Grammy-nominated. With Khaled being set to perform, he decided to take to Snapchat to thank Rihanna for the opportunity, especially after she surprised him with doing the video.
