#ThirstTrapThursday with Annie Cruz: What’s Up with Montana Fishburne?

By Annie Cruz

Just to refresh your memory: Back in 2010, Montana Fishburne, the gorgeous 19-year-old daughter of acclaimed actor Laurence Fishburne, made her first ever adult movie for Vivid Entertainment.

The movie, titled simply Montana Fishburne and distributed as a VividCeleb feature, followed the uninhibited Montana while she engaged in wild erotic adventures in a car, a hotel room and even in public while visiting a mall.  The movie was an instant sensation.

At the time Montana said, “I’ve watched how successful Kim Kardashian became and I think a lot of it was due to the release of her sex tape by Vivid.  I’m hoping the same magic will work for me.  I’m impatient about getting well-known and having more opportunities.”

Did she give any thought to how her father would react to her new venture before she plunged into it?  Probably not, because when she told him that she was a brand-new porn star, he replied: “I’m not going to speak with you ’till you turn your life around. You embarrassed me.” This report is from Montana herself.

Yikes!  That’s bad news to hear from a parent.  Wouldn’t you say?

However, it seems that Laurence Fishburne had the right idea.  Even if Kim Kardashian didn’t think about how her sex tape with Ray J would affect her future, Kim’s mother sure did.  Kris Jenner seemed to realize that Kim’s tape might damage her, but it could also be part of a strategy to make her a household name.  Of course, the circumstance of her tape’s release was different from Montana’s. Kim’s tape was brought to Vivid by a third party and Kim was taken by surprise that it was going to be distributed.  She even sued Vivid and a reported $5-million settlement was reached. No one knew what would happen, but Kris and Kim were ready to make the best of it.

Montana, on the other hand, simply called Vivid out of the blue and said she wanted to make a movie with the company.  She didn’t have a plan and didn’t have any support.  That’s the bad news.  The good news is she’s only 26 years old and can still give some serious thought about how to move on.

There have been rumors and snippets of real news over the past seven years that Montana has been in and out of rehab, has been dancing on the gentlemen’s club circuit, was arrested and charged with DUI earlier this year near her home in Florida, etc.  It seems that she’s still in the process of figuring things out.

Whatever you decide to do, we’re rootin’ for you Montana!
