Last year, Lil Uzi Vert was easily the biggest phenomenon in the whole rap game. He got off to a hot start and definitely helped put DJ Drama and Don Cannon on the map as record executives. However, once he really got moving, Wiz Khalifa announced he signed with Taylor Gang.
DJ Drama was quick to remind everyone that Lil Uzi Vert was actually signed to his label. This wasn’t anything that Wiz Khalifa argued against, however. After all, both Wiz Khalifa and DJ Drama have label partnerships with Atlantic Records, thus making Uzi their artist.
When “Xo Tour Llif3,” Lil Uzi Vert’s breakout single, went triple platinum, a plaque went to Wiz Khalifa. He may have ignored DJ Drama’s comments, last year, but he responded to them last night. Showing off the plaque, Wiz Khalifa asked why he got one, referencing DJ Drama saying Uzi wasn’t his artist.
