For the third year straight, Erykah Badu is hosting the Soul Train Awards. In her own words, she said this must make her the LeBron James of the award show. When it came to sports, however, Erykah was paying homage to Colin Kapernick.
It’s no secret that everything is seemingly falling apart, when it comes to social politics. Now, the respect between the races is the lowest it’s been since the 1960s. In protest, Colin Kaepernick sacrificed his career to take a knee.
Erykah Badu took a knee during her monologue, where she also took shots at the president. The fans on Twitter knew just what Erykah Badu was doing and they were right there for it. There was just one question, though, why was Evelyn Braxton also reading the teleprompter?
