One year ago, today, some of the most-shocking news emerged, when it was said that Shawty Lo died. His death was shocking, seeing how he only recently buried his grandfather. But, he was leaving one of his favorite places, when he pulled out too soon, in traffic, dying instantly.
Shawty Lo died in a car crash, but his legacy was immediately reborn, to the masses. It is easy to write the D4L leader off as the “Dey Know” one hit wonder, but there was so much more to him. The frequent mixtape releases made him into an ATL legend.
In honor of this legacy, Shawty Lo is being honored, on Twitter. The people who knew him, and knew his legacy, have come together to pay homage. They have “RIP Shawty” as one of Twitter’s leading trending topics.
