Last year, Solange successfully honed her niche, which is well outside the realm of her immensely popular sister. With “Cranes in the Sky,” Solange crafted a hit of her own. Meanwhile, A Seat At The Table is regarded as a classic album.

Solange used the album as a vehicle to speak on racial injustices and ownership for people of color. In some ways, her album was the prequel to Jay-Z’s 4:44 album. Both albums tapped the same themes of racial equality and ownerships.

This morning, Solange caused quite a stir, when she targeted the riots that took place, this weekend. Offering her support, Solange asked what it would take to get Takiyah Thompson free. Then, she deleted her Twitter.
