Currently, Bun B is teaching hip hop classes and has become a professor. This is definitely a far cry from his UGK days, spending time on the yacht with Jay-Z. But, Bun B paid his dues and is a hip hop legend, so it’s only right his work becomes something of study.
Unfortunately, the rise of hip hop into the mainstream has come during a time of social unrest. The current race war is the worst this generation has ever seen. Some try to say the Civil Rights era ended those types of feelings, but the battles have never stopped, they only slowed.
The last election cycle, paired with the abuse of the law, and what happened in Charlottesville have only proven this. While walking with protesters, Bun B received the middle finger from someone who was on the other side. Confronting the man for giving him the finger, and making racist remarks, Bun B let it be known who he is.
