Last week, Drake held his annual Houston Appreciation Week and he did it big, in his surrogate city. This year, Drake even teamed up with veteran rapper, Trae Tha Truth, for his Trae Day. Paying homage to the city and what he does, Drake honored everyone.
Drake is one of the first rappers to shout out the dancers by name, which is now commonplace. Definitely, his shouts for Maliah Michel helped make her into a household name. Now, Drake is dealing with backlash from her.
During HAW, Drake “retired” the jerseys of Lira Galore, Maliah Michel, and Miracle Watts. All three ladies are icons for their dancing and have curves galore, so they took his retiring their jerseys as a compliment. Not the case for Maliah Michel, as she responded to this, saying no man can retire her, despite the “social media news,” and that she’ll be shaking her booty until she’s in a wheelchair.
