As of late, Queen Latifah has been back in the spotlight. She resurfaced, last year, on “Star,” playing opposite Tyrese. The show’s supporting cast also includes Lenny Kravitz, Naomi Campbell, Gladys Knight, Joseline Hernandez, Miss Lawrence, Quincy, and Amiyah Scott.
Towards the end of “Star,” season one, Queen Latifah’s Carlotta revealed to Cotton (Scott) that Jahil (Benjamin Bratt) was her father. It was a dramatic cliffhanger. “Star” ended and Queen Latifah showed back up in the Girls’ Trip trailer with Jada Pinkett-Smith.
Queen Latifah stopped by Hot 97, speaking to Ebro and Laura Stylez, without Peter Rosenberg. During the interview, Queen Latifah spoke on the current hip hop landscape, praising many parts of it, even discussing the Nicki Minaj/Remy Ma beef. She also revealed “Star” is having an “Empire” crossover, where Carlotta and Cooke (Taraji P. Henson) will face off.
