Last fall, Jordan Peele released the first trailer for Get Out, his comedic horror film. At the time, the concept seemed a little bizarre, but this shakeup was, apparently, what the movie world needed. The film starred Daniel Kaluuya and Allison Williams.
Get Out has immediately changed the culture and given birth to some new terms. A social media favorite is “The Sunken Place,” which describes some bizarre interracial relationships. All of this has occurred just since Get Out premiered, earlier this year.
Now, Jordan Peele has truly established himself as a powerhouse in the world of film. Not only is Get Out the highest-grossing film by a black director, or of 2017, it has made history. With $150 million grossed, Get Out is the highest-grossing film of all-time.
