Due to The New Edition Story, Johnny Gill and New Edition are back in the spotlight. These biopics have been great ways for older artists and groups to thrust themselves back into the focal point. On the biopic, he was played by Luke James, a rising R&B star in his own right.
Johnny Gill is the only member of New Edition not from Boston. A solo star before New Edition, Johnny Gill was a DMV area native, but he bonded with the guys. Along with that, Johnny Gill fought with the rest of the crew.
Recently, Johnny Gill made his reappearance on “The Breakfast Club,” his first 2017 appearance. During the interview, he addressed the Stacy Lattisaw beef and her son, before getting into the real. He would speak on The New Edition Story, the tension in the group, his life as an older, single, man, and much more.
