The newest BET drama, “The Quad,” is one of the hottest shows on television. Wednesday nights are suddenly stacked, as “The Quad” is loaded with drama. One of the stories playing out is the rivalry between Eva (Anika Noni Rose) and her daughter, Sydney (Jazz Raycole).
When the series begins, Sydney is dismissive of Eva, like most teenage daughters are to their mothers. But, when her father arrives, it is revealed Eva cheated on her husband with a student. Because of this, obviously, Sydney is upset with Eva.
However, Sydney also almost drank herself to death, hanging out with the wrong crowd. Clearly, she has not learned her lesson and she is trying Eva in public. Despite the empty threat, those watching “The Quad” are telling Eva to go for it, because this is a lesson Sydney needs to learn.
