Throughout history, regardless of the situation, race relations is always a topic. Only a few years ago, race relations were at an all-time high, in the eyes of some. Obviously, given what is going on in the world, this was only a facade, as things are still tense.
Even down to how artists of color receive awards at the mainstream award shows, it becomes a matter of race. Not taking away from Adele with 25, as “Hello” dominated for months, but Beyonce broke the internet. Her Lemonade album still has people talking, figuring it out.
Ultimately, Beyonce would lose the Album of the Year to Adele. As gracious as ever, Adele decided to share the award with Beyonce. But, that wasn’t the point, Solange hit the nail on the head with her tweet.
